PLASTFOIL® in the reconstruction of the oil industry facilities of the Balkan Peninsula

LUKOIL Neftohim Burgas AD is the largest oil refining enterprise on the Balkan Peninsula. It is the main supplier of fuel to the domestic market of the Republic of Bulgaria. "LUKOIL Neftochim Burgas" invests in modern technologies that allow reducing the level of environmental pollution at the enterprise facilities. Modernization concerns existing and new facilities, it is aimed at improving the environmental situation in the region of the company’s activity: incinerators flue gas cleaning system, the installation of a new waste heat boiler and a filter system. According to the program of reconstruction of industrial premises at the enterprise facilities more than 10,000 sq. meters of the roof covering were repaired. For these roofing works it was chosen a reliable and high-quality material PLASTFOIL® ECO of 1.5 mm with optimum technical characteristics. Waterproofing membrane PLASTFOIL® has high strength and elasticity; it is resistant to UV radiation, wind loads and temperature changes. It is convenient and easy to work with this material; the installation process is performed without the use of fire by means of mechanical fastening. The flexibility of the membrane PLASTFOIL® makes it possible to comfortably fasten it on the roof, including in the places of joints to the protruding structures. The roll width of the PLASTFOIL® ECO 1.5 mm is 2.1 mm, length - 20 m - the large surface area allows to reduce the number of weld seams which are the main leakage points. The advantage of the waterproofing membrane PLASTFOIL® over bituminous materials is its light weight, durability and long service life. PLASTFOIL® has a 30-year service life, the bitumen roof has to be repaired every 5-6 years.
