Reliable roof PLASTFOIL® for the warehouses of the Baltic Sea

The port of Sillamae is located on the northern coast of Estonia. A deep-water, ice-free port is open for shipping around-the-clock 365 days a year. The infrastructure includes: 14 berths, 4 terminals, a common tank farm, indoor and outdoor storage facilities. Being located 25 km from the border, the port of Sillamäe is the closest port of the EU to Russia. This is the easternmost deep-water port of the EU, capable of receiving large vessels entering the Baltic Sea. Due to its location the port is an efficient distribution center for transportation of various goods to all countries of the world. Construction of new indoor warehouses is coming to an end in the port of Sillamae. For the installation of the roof with an area of 12 000 m2 the high-quality waterproofing material PLASTFOIL® ECO 1,2 mm was applied. PLASTFOIL® material has optimal technical characteristics: high strength, resistance to mechanical influences and to environmental factors: ultraviolet radiation and temperature differences. Comfortable installation of waterproofing membrane PLASTFOIL® was carried out by mechanical fastening without using an open flame. Flexible and elastic material PLASTFOIL® ECO is reinforced with a synthetic mesh, it can be installed up to -10° C and not to stop roofing works under the conditions of the Baltic winter. The weight of PLASTFOIL® is lighter in 3-4 times the weight of the bituminous materials, which helps to reduce the load on the whole roofing structure. The large area of the PLASTFOIL® ECO 1,2 mm roll reduces the number of welding seams. Unlike with bitumen waterproofing which has to be repaired every 5-6 years, PLASTFOIL® has a 30-year service life. Reliable waterproofing PLASTFOIL® is an efficient and cost-saving solution for the installation of roofs of huge projects.
