A high-quality PLASTFOIL® ECO waterproofing membrane with a thickness of 1.5 mm was used to equip a Japanese bath in a private house in Gdynia (Poland).
We all well imagine the Russian steam room, the Finnish sauna and the Turkish hammam. With Japanese baths we are less familiar. In the land of the rising sun, the bathing procedure is a rite associated with the purification not only of the body, but also of the soul. In fact, this is bathing but according to specific rules. One of the varieties of the Japanese bath - Furaco - is a font, divided into two sectors. In one there are seats, in the other - a heating device. Before diving into a font, a person carefully takes a shower and adjusts to meditation. In the font they sit in such a way that the water level is below the heart area. The therapeutic and cleansing effect is achieved not by hot air, as in a Russian or Finnish bath, but from the heat of water with a temperature of 45–55 degrees.
When equipping the font, special attention is paid to hygiene issues. The PLASTFOIL® polymeric membrane can be used not only in tanks designed for washing: according to the expert opinion of the Russian Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, the contact of the material is permitted with drinking water. Durability, environmental friendliness, safety, chemical and biological resistance - these are the advantages of PLASTFOIL®, thanks to which it will serve for a long time and reliably for lovers of the Japanese bath.
