Reliable protection by PLASTFOIL® for a business center in Kyiv

The business center at the address: pr. Pobedy, 67 in Kyiv is protected from precipitation by a reliable Russian-made polymeric membrane PLASTFOIL®, which covered the roof of a building with an area of more than 2,000 m2.

The use of PLASTFOIL® outside of our country is growing rapidly. In Ukraine in recent years, this high-quality waterproofing material was applied on the facilities of transport infrastructure, the fuel and energy complex and, which is especially responsible, at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The material has become popular in more distant countries: Poland and the Czech Republic.

Western neighbors of Russia are actively moving from outdated bitumen waterproofing to polymeric membranes - more durable and easy to install, at the same time they are less flammable and toxic. In contrast to common bitumen coatings, PLASTFOIL® membranes are installed in one layer, rather than two or four, fastened and connected to each other without use of open flame, which allows making reconstruction of the roof without stopping fire-hazardous industries. The membrane has a much smaller specific weight - a square meter of PLASTFOIL® is 4–5 times lighter than a bitumen sheet of the same area. It is important to note the high maintainability of the membrane - any damaged area is easily sealed with a patch of residual material after waterproofing works. However, it’s least worth thinking about repairing the roof if it is equipped with a high-strength PLASTFOIL® membrane with a thickness of 1.5 mm, as on the roof of a business center located at Pobedy Avenue, 67 in Kyiv. The effective life of this material is at least 50 years, and this is quite a lot. While the mentioned bitumen coatings require repairing after 3-4 years.
