Roof of the new-built house in Tallinn is under a reliable protection of PLASTFOIL®

Roof is one of the key elements of a residential building. In order to protect the house from water penetration a special attention is given to the choice of waterproofing material. Efficient waterproofing membrane PLASTFOIL® is applied as the principal constituent of the roof structure of residential apartment buildings. Many European contracting companies choose just this sound material, as PLASTFOIL® ensures reliability and durability to the entire structure. The Estonian construction company Brikks Baltic OU is building a residential house in Tallinn along Kadaka tee street. For installation the roof with area of more than 1,000 square meters they applied the waterproofing membrane PLASTFOIL® ECO 1,2 mm which has optimal technical characteristics. It has a high strength and resistance to mechanical impacts and to natural factors such as ultraviolet radiation, frost, wind and temperature changes. The weight of the membrane PLASTFOIL® is 3-4 times less than the weight of bituminous materials. This characteristic helps to reduce loading and unloading and also installation operations, as well as reduce the load on the entire roof structure. Welding of seams of canvases is carried out by a fireless method by means of special equipment. The mechanical way of fastening makes the installation process convenient and fast. Due to the large area of the rolls of PLASTFOIL® ECO 1,2 mm (width - 2,1 m and length - 25 m), the number of joints which are usually the main places of leakages is reduced. Bioresistant material PLASTFOIL® is not a nutrient medium for fungi and microorganisms. Unlike bitumen waterproofing materials which has to be repaired every 5-6 years PLASTFOIL® has a 30-year service life. An extensive application of the high-quality waterproofing material PLASTFOIL® on many residential properties confirms that it effectively copes with the assigned tasks due to its excellent properties. This is a durable and reliable concept for roofs of residential buildings.
